Chicago’s Luminere Spa Offers a Free Spa Service following Cat Rescue and Adoption

CHICAGO (June 4, 2013) – Meow!  This summer, pet lovers can adopt a cat and receive a free Brazilian wax (called the “What’s New Pussycat?) or a facial (called the Furry Feline Facial) from Luminere Spa.

Tracey Briggs, owner of Luminere Spa in Chicago, is motivated to save cats and kittens that will not make it to the adoption floor at Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC, http://fcacc.org/fcacc_home/index.php).

“Due mostly to space constraints, there are so many kitties that will be euthanized if they do not make it to the adoption floor or to an adoption center,” said Briggs, a longtime pet lover and owner of Luminere Spa.  “I thought the best way to help is to offer a complimentary spa service to anyone who adopts a cat and saves its life.”

In Chicago alone, more than 8,000 animals were euthanized last year.  While CACC is working hard to decrease this number, more help and awareness is needed to help homeless cats in the city.

Now, two new treatments are available: “What’s New Pussycat?” (Brazilian wax) and the “Furry Feline Facial” and have Chicago spa lovers purring.  Luminere Spa will offer either treatment to anyone who adopts a cat from a select list of adoption sites, including Treehouse Humane Society , PAWS Chicago.  For a complete listing of adoption groups, please visit https://luminerespa.com/whats-new-pussycat/

“We need to raise awareness about the hundreds of loveable cats who might not be adopted mainly because they won’t make it to the adoption floor.  There’s simply not enough room,” added Briggs.

“What’s New Pussycat?” and the “Furry Feline Facial” unleash luminous summertime skin for Chicagoans.  This promotion runs through the summer and ends Aug. 31.

Luminere does not use any products known to be tested on animals as this is not in alignment with its philosophy of caring for others, including our four-legged friends, and our environment.
