A TRIUMPH FOR BRITISH DESIGN - LYNDON TEAMS UP WITH NICK MUNRO TO UNVEIL NEW SEATING COLLECTION
In the same year that Britain commemorates the Jubilee and hosts the Olympic Games, the leading British manufacturer of upholstered handcrafted furniture for commercial interiors - Lyndon Design (now part of the Boss Design Group) - celebrates 30 years of manufacture by joining forces with acclaimed British designer, Nick Munro, to reveal a stunning two seater sofa to add to its popular Luge seating collection.
Ideal for executive reception areas and the hospitality environment, the new two seater upholstered sofa is the perfect compliment to the existing Luge lounge chair and is the epitome of innovative design and handcrafted manufacturing capabilities for which Lyndon is renowned.
Fusing a hardwood solid timber frame with linear stitch detail on the seat and back, the Luge sofa features comb joints and bevelled edge detailing courtesy of the company’s in-house high-tec CNC driven woodworking facility. The Luge collection is available with a Black American Walnut or European Oak frame and may be specified in any fabric or leather.
Commenting on this latest venture, Nick Munro said: “There are very few companies working successfully with British designers to generate contemporary, characterful, world class British products such as Luge and for me, working with the dedication, commitment to quality and hand craft skills at Lyndon has been a joy - you can feel it in the luxury and style of the finished thing.”
Nick adds: “For the new sofa, I wanted to echo the same feeling of movement and fluidity that we captured in the armchair – the designs just look like they are going places and that’s what my collaboration with Lyndon is all about.”
A significant milestone in Lyndon’s own product development history, the Luge sofa also marks its 30th anniversary, together with a series of occasional tables. Lyndon is well placed to further expand into the retail and corporate sectors with even more strategic initiatives scheduled for roll out over the next twelve months.
