Lyndon Design - one of the leading British manufacturers of handcrafted upholstered furniture for commercial interiors - has unveiled ambitious plans for its future growth as it celebrates 30 years of design and manufacture. This latest development follows extensive capital investment and a major restructuring of the sales and management team at the Cheltenham-based company that is now part of The Boss Design Group.

Established in 1982, Lyndon Design has become renowned for its core brand values of classic and simplistic designs, high-end quality timber, unparalleled craftsmanship and bespoke manufacturing capabilities. With 30 year’s design and manufacturing experience, the company is now poised to further expand its offering into the hospitality, leisure, retail, and corporate sectors.

Sales Director at Lyndon Design, Tim Armitt explains: “In addition to an extensive product development strategy and expansion into new sectors, we have a number of exciting strategic initiatives that we intend to roll out over the next twelve months, all of which will serve to reinforce Lyndon’s standing as a pioneer in the design and manufacture of handcrafted upholstered furniture both in the UK and overseas.”

He added: “Based on the success of our unique bespoke offering, and significant recent investment in state-of-the-art CNC machinery that complements our time-honoured handcrafted manufacturing techniques, we also aim to position Lyndon as a turnkey solutions provider of handcrafted upholstered furniture across all commercial interiors.”

Clerkenwell Design Week signals the start of an impressive schedule of activity for Lyndon, and several of its new collections will be unveiled in the prestigious 8,000sq ft Boss Design showroom. These include the company’s first venture into occasional furniture and coffee tables that have been designed by the award-winning furniture designer, Mark Gabbertas, together with new upholstered seating and additions to its popular sofa collections.

Lyndon’s programme of product and marketing activity will also include a new and inspiring design brochure, a dedicated website, participation at key exhibitions and a series of regional roadshows. A marketing and PR campaign is also being launched.

Tim concludes: “Whilst innovative design, high end quality, engineering excellence, and exceptional customer service have been pivotal to Lyndon’s success over the last 30 years, now is the time for Lyndon to embrace these values and expand its presence across new sectors. At Lyndon, we manufacture British products to be proud of and our aim is to share our heritage and expertise with customers around the globe.”

Notes to the Editor:

Established in 1982 and based in Cheltenham, Lyndon Design was acquired by The Boss Design Group in 2010. The two companies were previously well known to each other with both Managing Directors - Brian Murray of Boss Design and Richard Pugh of Lyndon Design - having worked together on ventures almost thirty years ago, including the set up of Lyndon Design in 1982 before Brian went on to establish Boss Design in 1983. The Boss Design Group also owns Komac, another dominant brand in the office seating sector. Boasting show-wood manufacturing technology at its in-house frame making facility, Lyndon Design is revered both in the UK and overseas for the innovative design and the quality and comfort of its commercial interior products.
