Excela Health Turns to SCI Solutions to Improve Provider Access and Patient Convenience
Streamlined rules-based scheduling, optimized orders, results and referral management solutions expected to increase volumes, improve coordination of care and reduce network leakage
Campbell, CA, July 29, 2013 — SCI Solutions, a leading provider of orders/referral management and rules-based enterprise scheduling software solutions, today announced that Excela Health has contracted with SCI to improve orders, results and referral management and streamline scheduling processes for their provider network. SCI’s solutions will be implemented in Excela Health’s three acute care facilities, serving the people of Southwestern Pennsylvania in Westmoreland, southern Indiana and northern Fayette Counties.
“Ensuring that community physicians and their staff find it easy to do business with our hospitals is crucial to the continued success of our health system,” said Tim Loch, CFO of Excela Health. “Streamlining our intake of outpatient orders and referrals – and reducing the number of incomplete and illegible orders - will help alleviate unnecessary frustration for both patients and physicians. Further providing an easy way to schedule tests and offering self-service scheduling and pre-registration across all of our facilities will afford Excela a significant competitive advantage in our market.”
Solutions to be implemented at Excela Health as part of the SCI contract include:
- Schedule Maximizer®, the industry’s leading rules-based scheduling tool, which offers self-service scheduling for physicians and patients, automatic medical necessity checking and insurance verification, tracking of ‘open’ orders not linked to appointments, linking of appointments to orders, and worklists of orders needing appointments.
- Order Facilitator®, industry’s leading EMR-enabled physician referral and outpatient order management platform measured by transaction volume that enables hospitals to electronically import outpatient orders via web, EMR, or fax to provide front-end revenue cycle checks, leading to streamlined patient care and faster reimbursement.
- Results Facilitator®, SCI’s new powerful point-of-care tool that enables providers and the care giver team to receive patient test results anytime, anywhere on their iPad®, iPhone® or other browser-based devices. Physicians can immediately act on clinical radiology and laboratory results, re-order tests, order new ones or refer patients to another physician in real time.
