DANSKE CAPITAL VETERAN TO MANAGE M&G GLOBAL GROWTH FUND

London, 19 May 2014 – M&G Investments (“M&G”) today announces that John William Olsen will take responsibility for the M&G Global Growth Fund and the M&G Pan European Fund with effect from 1st July, pending regulatory approval for him to manage the funds.

John William joined M&G in April. He has 16 years’ experience in equity investment. At Danske Capital he was a portfolio manager for the firm’s Global StockPicking and Global Select funds, as well as its European Select equity strategy.

John William’s appointment to the M&G Global Growth Fund will allow incumbent fund manager Greg Aldridge to focus on his institutional mandates, which have grown significantly.

Charles Anniss will remain deputy manager on the M&G Global Growth Fund and will be appointed sole manager of the M&G European Fund from 1st July 2014. He will become deputy manager of the M&G Pan European Fund and will continue in his role as manager of the M&G European Smaller Companies Fund.

About the fund managers
Prior to joining M&G in April 2014, John William Olsen spent 16 years with Danske Capital where he became portfolio manager for the firm’s Global StockPicking and Global Select Funds, as well as its European Select equity strategy in 2002. He joined Danske Capital from Danske Bank in 1998, working first in Danish equities and then global telecommunications and technology equities analysis.

Charles Anniss joined M&G in 2000 as a member of the investment communications team and became an analyst on the equities team in 2003, focusing on European smaller companies. He has managed the M&G European Smaller Companies Fund since 2007 and has been co-manager of the M&G European Fund and the M&G Pan European Fund since 2011.  Charles graduated with a degree in French and Spanish from Bristol University and is a CFA charterholder.

Greg Aldridge joined M&G in 2004 as an analyst covering basic industries stocks. He has managed institutional and retail mandates since 2007.  Greg joined M&G from McKinsey where he spent three years working with industrial and consumer goods clients on strategy and organisational issues. Prior to this, he spent four years in the investment banking division of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell specialising in the utilities sector. Greg holds an MA in economics from Cambridge University and an MBA from INSEAD.
