[Stockholm, Sweden, August 4, 2005.] In a strategic appointment designed at strengthening M2 Engineering’s global position in the highly-specialized, technology-driven optical disc industry, Carl G. Langenskiold has been named president and chief executive officer of the M2 Group, of Stockholm, Sweden, a leading worldwide manufacturer of optical disc production systems and equipment.

Langenskiold, together with Stefan Olin, founded M2 Engineering in 1995 at the dawn of the optical disc industry. Langenskiold has been in the forefront of M2’s global success over the last decade and helped make M2 one of the world’s premier manufacturers of CD and DVD equipment and molding and mastering systems. M2’s Board of Directors made the announcement of Langenskiold’s return to run the company as well as his full involvement in advancing M2 Engineering to a higher plateau in the optical disc business. A respected figure in the industry, Langenskiold was elected chairman last year of the Media-Tech Association, a group which guides and oversees the industry. As a total solutions manufacturer-provider, M2 now supplies complete manufacturing systems and equipment for the entire optical disc production process, from mastering and molding to finished CD and DVD discs, as well as production of current and future generations of optical media. M2 recently developed the SQM, a new-generation of photo-resist glass mastering systems. The SQM features many new innovations, including a unique laser beam recorder concept that provides the level of precision required for consistent high quality mastering of current DVD and CD formats and future high density optical media. M2 also developed a fully electric injection-molding machine that uses M2 technology for increased process windows and low cycle times. Beside introducing unique machinery and patented technologies, M2 is currently developing optical disc manufacturing systems for the Blu-ray and HD DVD formats. “Directing M2 in tomorrow’s high-tech era is very exciting as well as a challenging opportunity. My goal is to strengthen M2’s leadership in the field of optical media and other next-generation technologies,” Langenskiold said.
