M2 Develops New Products For the Recordable Market
M2 Develops New Products For the Recordable Market [Stockholm, Sweden, November 8, 2004.] M2 announces the release of the SQ1R, a new product for CDR. The SQ1R is a mono line designed for cycle times under four seconds for CDR. M2 has also redesigned and improved its model SQ3 for recordable formats. The new SQ3 is designed to manufacture DVDR at cycle times under 3.5 seconds. The SQ1R for CDR is one of several recent new products from M2 (the others being the SQ200 for DVD9 and the SQM Mastering System). The SQ1R is a mono line that is designed for cycle times under four seconds. The SQ1R is a perfect marriage of leading technological solutions and a robust, simple design. In addition, its intuitive process flow and extreme user friendliness contributes to its high output. The SQ1R is branded as 'the reliable solution for CDR production'. Simplicity, reliability and user friendliness have been cornerstones in the development and design work. The new and improved SQ3 has been adapted for the tight specification of 16 x DVDR and at cycle times under 3.5 seconds. Every process step, from cooling to metallizing and edge wash, has been redesign in order to meet the new demands. A spin cooling station has been added in order to reduce the cycle times of the injection molding. The spin cooling station produce exceptionally flat discs, a requirement for 16 x DVDR. The SQ3's robust systems design and stable process solutions enable not only high quality DVDR and CDR production, but also considerable cost savings. The official launch of the SQ1R and the new SQ3 was made by M2's CEO Stefan Stockhaus at the Replication Expo 2004 in Guangzhou, China on November 10. "M2's continuing recordable product development shows our commitment to the recordable market and the entire industry. We can offer technically advanced products for the entire CD and DVD discs production process, to the benefit of our customers", said Stefan Stockhaus, CEO, M2.
