M2 Now a Complete Solution Provider: M2 Develops Its Own Molding Technology in Cooperation with Toyo and Adds It to the SQ200
[Stockholm, Sweden, May 10, 2005.] M2 has developed its own injection molding machine in cooperation with one of the company’s long term partner, Toyo of Japan. The new molding technology has been added to M2’s high capacity DVD system, the SQ200. The development makes M2 a true complete solutions provider of optical disc production systems and equipment for the global market.
From a position as experts in disc finishing, M2 has continuously developed its genuine skills in adjacent fields and broadened its product offering. Last year M2 introduced the next generation of mastering equipment, the SQM. Today the company takes another big step in becoming a complete global solutions provider by launching its own molding technology and adding it to the SQ200. The new injection molding machine has been developed in cooperation with the Japanese company Toyo, one of M2’s long term partners. The molding unit is fully electric and contains unique and genuine M2 technology for increased process window and low cycle times. Added to the SQ200, M2 has created a complete solution with seamless integration between the molding process and downstream. Furthermore, the cost of operation is extremely low. Among several cost-reducing factors is a power saving of up to 50% compared to other machines. The new SQ200 including M2’s new molding technology will be officially launched at the MediaTech Expo in Las Vegas on May 10-12. The SQ200 is M2’s high capacity DVD-9 finishing line with a cycle time of less than two seconds per disc. The SQ200’s replicating capacity is more than 36,000 DVD discs per day. With its high capacity, the SQ200 addresses the high end of the market. ”We can now offer our customers a completely integrated production solution from a single source. The main benefits for our customers are convenience and simplicity in a reliable line and in a single counterpart that is fully accountable for the complete system”, said Stefan Stockhaus, CEO, M2. “Also, being able to offer systems for the entire CD and DVD production process puts us in a better position to develop equipment for new and more complex formats in the future. We have joined both the HD DVD promotion group and the Blu-Ray Disc Association. At Media-Tech, the SQ200 is released for high-quality HD DVD production, while M2’s research is going on for the Blu-ray format and will be ready for the market during 2006.” For additional information and photos please contact: Fredrik Grivans, VP Sales & Marketing, M2 Phone: +46 8 506 560 00 or 46 709 28 48 69 Email: fredrik.grivans@m2e.se Stefan Stockhaus, CEO, M2 Phone: +46 8 506 560 00 or +46 733 35 99 73 Email: stefan.stockhaus@m2e.se For more information on M2 please go to: www.m2.se.
