M2S receives major order from Södra Skogsägarna

M2S receives major order from Södra Skogsägarna M2S, in cooperation with WM-data, has received an order from Södra Skogsägarna in conjunction with a home-PC offer. Södra Skogsägarna has offered employees in Sweden and Norway home-PCs and about 1,700 persons have accepted the offer. The deal also includes a customized training program, Custom, for all employees. Södra Skogsägarna is offering all employees a home-PC package and has purchased a basic package from M2S comprising such M2S standard courses as Windows 2000, Wit for Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and general IT knowledge. Södra Skogsägarna has chosen M2S e-learning solution, which means that employees can complete all courses directly on the Internet. In addition, the same training programs are provided on a CD to all who accept the offer. The home-PC package Södra Skogsägarna is offering its employees also includes a Custom training package in which the emphasis is on information about the purpose and goals of the home-PC package and the M2S Wit methodology. The customized training is being distributed through the company's intranet. "With this combination of M2S Custom and Wit training, Södra Skogsägarna is making a strong effort in skills development and has succeeded in gaining acceptance from the majority of employees already in the first phase, which is highly pleasing," says Per Österberg, head of M2S's Swedish operations. "We also note a trend in Sweden toward companies wanting to offer employees the same training possibilities in the home as in the workplace and Södra Skogsägarna's selection of M2S e-learning is further proof of this. The tax recommendation that makes the Internet connection tax-free, if the employer selects a training form in which the employees is dependent on the net, particularly improves the prospects for M2S's e-learning products in home-PC projects," concludes Österberg. Södra Skogsägarna will follow up the offer to its employees during the autumn, when those who have not accepted will be provided another opportunity.
