MACGREGOR, PRESS RELEASE, JULY 1 2026 AT 9 AM CEST
MacGregor has received a substantial volume of orders for Offshore Load Handling service projects during the first half of 2026. By securing these vital modernisation and upgrade contracts, the company has solidified its integrated agreements and reaffirmed its position as a key global partner for complex offshore operations.
The orders are booked into MacGregor’s first and second quarter 2026 order intake.
Strong Momentum in the Offshore Market
Recently won offshore load handling related modernisation orders highlight MacGregor's capability to provide value throughout the entire lifecycle of a vessel. These initiatives provide specialised engineering, extensive upgrades and modernisations designed to enhance the operational performance of the global fleet currently in service.
"Securing these contracts is a testament to our commitment to next-generation offshore technology," says Tomas Hakala, SVP, Global Services at MacGregor. "We see a clear market trend where safety and precision are prioritised higher than ever and we remain the partner of choice for these complex requirements."
Project Scope and Technical Expertise
A key highlight of these recent modernisation and upgrade contracts includes the total rebuild of customer's crane control systems. This project replaces obsolete components with the newest technological advancements currently featured on MacGregor’s latest newbuild cranes.
Additionally, the asset will be equipped with a brand-new, highly functional operator cabin boasting an advanced Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and enhanced operational features. MacGregor's meticulously planned execution of similar projects in the past was a decisive factor in the owner placing their trust in the company once again.
Within the specialised field of modernisations and upgrades, MacGregor possesses industry-leading expertise across all technical disciplines, paired with a deep understanding of how equipment is operated in real-world conditions. This allows MacGregor to engineer bespoke upgrades tailored to the specific needs of each client and individual crane, maximising asset utilisation.
For vessel owners, this adaptability is extremely important, as it enables them to quickly configure existing cranes to qualify for new bids and emerging markets.
