Chassis Cab gives the Hospice the gift that keeps on giving
business boosts hospice funds by sign-writing parts van for mobile ‘awareness-building’
campaign and offering an ongoing ‘money per mile’ donation
Chassis Cab – the family-run DAF truck dealership with sites at Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Cambridge and Isleham – has adorned its new parts van with sign-writing to support the vital work of St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The easy to spot livery will be seen by motorists around Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire acting as a mobile reminder to people to donate funds to help support hospice care. The company will also provide an additional and ongoing ‘money per mile’ donation. The 13 hospice shops in West Suffolk and Thetford support the work of the nursing and care staff but more is needed to help patients and their families. Care is given free but the hospice has to raise £11,000 a day through donations and fund raising.
Speaking on behalf of Chassis Cab, Dealer Principal Robert Baxter commented: “It is very rewarding for us to be able to help provide this support-livery to St Nicholas Hospice Care in addition to a regular donation from us for each mile that our parts van travels around the region. Our families,
like all others, are acutely aware of the much-needed voluntary service that the Hospice offers and for this reason we are delighted to be able to help in this way.
“This is our way of showing how much we care about the work that the hospice does. If we can keep the name in the minds of those who travel around the region, we hope that it will stimulate the offer of donations during the months and years ahead. And with the donation per mile support, hopefully it will be the gift that just keeps on giving!”
Abby Mayes, St Nicholas Hospice Care Corporate Fundraiser, added: “Chassis Cab is one of the local businesses that has supported us consistently over the years. They are always there to support us when we have an event and this highly creative sponsorship idea is most welcome particularly during a time when we are celebrating 30 years of hospice care in West Suffolk and Thetford.
“We are most grateful for the ongoing support from Chassis Cab and appreciate this novel and unexpected initiative, as it is these that can make a real boost to the work that we do.”
Most income is raised through donations, fundraising and the support of the West Suffolk and Thetford community.
