Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and 2 Live Beyond Bring Celebrity Golf Tournament to Myrtle Beach, SC
Golf classic to feature George Foster, Bobby Bonilla, Reggie Sanders and other MLB and NFL Alumni
Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and 2 Live Beyond will be hosting a celebrity golf tournament featuring former World Series champions, All-Stars, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award winners, All-Pros, Super Bowl champions and other MLB and NFL alumni. The event will take place on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th, 2015. Proceeds will benefit the Reggie Sanders Foundation, the Dream within You Campaign and Africa New Life Ministries.
Players attending* the event include five-time All-Star George Foster, three-time Silver Slugger Bobby Bonilla, 2001 World Series champion Reggie Sanders and five-time Pro-Bowl selected Sterling Sharpe, as well as Marlon Anderson, Bobby Bryant, Alex Cintron, Michael Chabala, Byron Chamberlain, DT Cromer, Andre Davis, Ray Durham, Harold Green, Jay Foreman, John Flinn, Orlando Hudson, Tom Hume, Kevin Jones, Andre King, Dennis Kinney, Kwamie Lassiter, Jerry Martin, Russ Ortiz, Kelly Paris, David Patton, Jim Perry, Chester Pitts, Donald Prince, Steve Ratzer, Desi Relaford, Kurt Seibert, Rod Smith, Junior Spivey, Chris Taylor, Tyler Thigpen, Chad Tracy, Bobby Valentine, Tony Womack, Al Woods and Donnell Woolford.
The event will start Friday, May 29th, with a Miracle League baseball game at 11:00 a.m. at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, located at 3205 N Oak St., Myrtle Beach, SC, 29577, followed by a long drive contest and putting experience at 12:30 p.m. at the Grande Dunes Resort. The evening will conclude with a cocktail hour and live auction at the House of Blues, beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a concert at 7:00 p.m. The House of Blues is located at 4640 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. The tournament will take place Saturday, May 30th, at the Grande Dunes Resort Course located at 8700 Golf Village Lane, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. The day will begin with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. An awards ceremony and barbeque at 3:30 p.m. will conclude the event.
