Free youth baseball clinic to feature Ed Bressoud, Mike Felder, Dwain Anderson and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) and San Francisco RBI’s Legends for Youth baseball clinic on Saturday, October 5th, 2013. The free baseball clinic, hosted by the MLBPAA and San Francisco RBI’s partner, the University of San Francisco and its Athletic Department, features Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for youth.

Alumni players attending include Ed Bressoud, Mike Felder, Dwain Anderson, Fred Breining, Warren Brusstar, Jim Campbell, Ernie Fazio, Tim Fortugno, Patrick Gomez, Joe Kmak, Bill Koski, Jalal Leach, Leron Lee, Larry Murray and Rich Robertson.

“We’re excited to partner with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association,” said Jim Messemer, Founder and Executive Director of San Francisco RBI. “Our partnership with the MLBPAA will further our mission to mobilize networks of influence, promoting teamwork, dedication and ensuring that all children in our program are reading at or above grade level.”

“These are not only Major League players, but Major League citizens who help us ensure that lessons learned on the ball filed translate to lessons learned in the classroom,” said Messemer. “These once in a lifetime experiences lead to positive results.”

The clinic will take place at Benedetti Diamond, University of San Francisco Baseball Field from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. located at 2335 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco, CA 94118. Alumni players will train youth at stations including pitching, catching, base running and life skills. The morning will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance.
