Golf tournament to feature Fergie Jenkins, Gaylord Perry, Robin Yount and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will be hosting a Swing with the Legends golf tournament to benefit Arizona Baseball Charities, a charity focused on helping Arizona children reach their full potential through sports. The event will take place Friday, January 24th through Sunday, January 26th, 2014.

The golf event will take place on Friday, January 24th at WeKoPa Golf Course, with check-in starting at 8:00 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. WeKoPa Golf Course is located at 18200 E Toh Vee Circle, Fort McDowell, AZ 85264. Following the tournament, a golf awards reception will take place, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

The weekend will continue with a celebrity poker tournament at the Fort McDowell Casino, beginning on Friday, January 24th at 5:00 p.m. The tournament will continue Saturday, January 25th, with finals beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Fort McDowell Casino is located at 10424 N Fort McDowell Road, Fort McDowell, AZ 85264. Following the poker tournament, there will be a dinner and auction at the Radisson Fort McDowell, starting with registration at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25th. The Radisson Fort McDowell is located at 10438 N Fort McDowell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85264.

A celebrity baseball game at Scottsdale Stadium will conclude the weekend. Gates will open at 11:00 a.m., with first pitch at 1:00 p.m. Scottsdale Stadium is located at 7408 E Osborn Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.

Alumni players attending the event include Hall of Famers Fergie Jenkins, Gaylord Perry and Robin Yount, as well as Mike Adams, Skip Adams, Ethan Blackaby, Ryan Bradley, Leon Brown, Byron Browne, Jr., Byron Browne, Sr., Keith Comstock, Duffy Dyer, Jack Heideman, Gene Hiser, Jason Hiser, Billy Horton, Garry Jestadt, Kevin Kobel, Pete LaCock, Albie Lopez, Robert Maher, Jim Marshall, Jamie McAndrew, Jim McAndrew, Tony Phillips, Mike Remlinger, Ken Rudolph, Doug Schaefer, Buddy Schultz, Phil Seibel, Mike Sember, Tony Womack and Larry Yount.
