Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic and "Swing with the Legends" Golf Classic to San Diego
Golf tournament to feature Randy Jones, Steve Trachsel, Ruppert Jones and other MLB Alumni
Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic on Wednesday, November 13th, 2013. The free baseball clinic features Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills, and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 – 16.
Then the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association will be hosting a “Swing with the Legends” celebrity golf tournament featuring former MLB All-Stars, World Series champions, Cy Young Award winners and other alumni. The tournament will take place on Thursday, November 14th, 2013. Proceeds from this event will benefit KinderVision and the MLBPAA.
The clinic will take place at Wells Park from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. located at 1151 E. Madison Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, base running and life skills. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. The evening will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance. To register for this clinic, please visit www.baseballalumni.com. The golf event will take place at Cottonwood Golf Club, with registration starting at 8:00 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Cottonwood Golf Club is located at 3121 Willow Glen Drive, El Cajon, CA 92019. After the tournament there will be a celebrity reception, beginning at 3:00 p.m., followed by an awards dinner.
Alumni players attending the golf event include Randy Jones, Steve Trachsel, Ruppert Jones, Tim Blackwell, Roger Craig, Geoff Geary, Neale Henderson, Randy Johnson, Gene Locklear, Russ McGinnis, Chuck Rainey, Randy Schwartz, Norm Sherry and Mitch Taylor.
