Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Tucson, AZ
Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Saturday, January 20th, 2018. In conjunction with the Tucson Youth Baseball Association, the free clinic features former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth.
Players attending* include two-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove Award winner, two-time Silver Slugger Award winner and 1990 Cincinnati Reds World Series champion Eric Davis, and 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks World Series champion Albie Lopez as well as Willie Adams, George Arias, Damon Buford, Dave Burba, Gil Heredia, Charlie Montoyo, Nikco Riesgo and Mike Sember. These 10 players combine for 72 seasons, 2,044 hits and 3,618 games in Major League Baseball.
The clinic will take place at Kino Sports Complex, running from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., located at 2500 E Ajo Way, Tucson, AZ 85713. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, baserunning and life skills. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the morning will conclude with an autograph session and baseball giveaways for children in attendance.
