Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Hartford, CT

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Graig Nettles, Bill Lee and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Saturday, May 19th, 2018. In conjunction with Arch Insurance, the free clinic features former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth.

Players attending* include 1981 ALCS MVP, two-time American League Gold Glove Award winner, six-time All-Star and two-time New York Yankees World Series champion Graig Nettles and 14-year MLB veteran and All-Star Bill Lee, as well as Dave Fleming, Joe Lahoud, Matt Merullo, Lee Stevens and Gary Waslewski. These seven players combine for 74 seasons, 3,662 hits, 2,135 RBI and 5,410 games in Major League Baseball. Also joining these players is current Hartford Yard Goats pitching coach Mark Brewer and current Hartford Yard Goats manager Warren Schaeffer.

The clinic will take place at Dunkin’ Donuts Park, home of the Hartford Yard Goats, running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., located at 1214 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06103. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, baserunning and life skills. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the morning will conclude with an autograph session and baseball giveaways for children in attendance.
