Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Hartford, CT

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Graig Nettles and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Saturday, August 11th, 2018. In conjunction with Arch Insurance, the free clinic features former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth.

Players attending* include two-time New York Yankees World Series champion and two-time Gold Glove Award winner Graig Nettles, as well as Angel Echevarria, Dave Fleming, Joe Lahoud, Bill Lee, Matt Merullo, Lee Stevens and Gary Waslewski. These eight players combine for 81 seasons, 3,814 hits and 5,738 games in Major League Baseball. Joining these major leaguers are Hartford Yard Goats manager Warren Schaeffer and pitching coach Mark Brewer.

The clinic will take place at Dunkin’ Donuts Park, home of the Hartford Yard Goats, running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., located at 1214 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06103. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, baserunning and life skills. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the morning will conclude with an autograph session and baseball giveaways for children in attendance.
