Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Nicaragua

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Porfi Altamirano, Oreste Marrero and Desi Relaford

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Nicaraguan youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series. The free clinics will feature* MLB veterans Porfi Altamirano, Oreste Marrero and Desi Relaford, who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth. These three players combine for 16 seasons, 735 hits and 1,046 games in Major League Baseball. The clinics and autograph sessions will occur on Saturday, November 3, as listed below.

 

The clinics will take place at FunLimon Field beginning at various times. Clinicians will train at different instructional stations for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 – 16. The clinics will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance.

 

Full Clinic Schedule (All times listed in Central Standard Time):

  • Saturday, November 3: Legends for Youth Coaches Clinic in Nicaragua held at Funlimon Field, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, November 3: Legends for Youth Clinic in Nicaragua held at Funlimon Field, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
