Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Gary, IN

Free youth baseball clinic to feature six MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic series on Monday, July 22nd, 2019. In conjunction with Home Field Advantage Foundation, LaTroy Hawkins and the Gary SouthShore RailCats, the free clinic features former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons, concluding with an autograph session and baseball giveaways for children in attendance.

Players attending* include 21-year MLB veteran pitcher LaTroy Hawkins, 1990 Cincinnati Reds World Series champion Hal Morris and two-time All-Star, 1998 Rookie of the Year and 2003 National League strikeouts leader Kerry Wood, as well as Tim Byrdak, Wallace Johnson and Chico Walker. These six players combine for 80 seasons, 1,721 hits and 4,167 games in Major League Baseball.

  • One Stadium Plaza, Gary, IN 46402
  • Session 1 Time (8-12 year olds): Clinic check-in beginning at 9:30 a.m. with instruction running from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Session 2 Time (13-17 year olds): Clinic check-in beginning at 12:30 p.m. with instruction running from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
