Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Legends for Youth Baseball Clinic Series to Lafayette, LA

Free youth baseball clinic to feature Lee Smith, Andrew Sheets and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at two Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinics this weekend on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th, 2014. In partnership with Chevy Youth Baseball, the free clinics feature former Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 – 16.

Players attending* include seven time All-Star and four time Reliever of the Year Lee Smith, as well as Andrew Sheets, Gerald Alexander, Jeff DeWillis, Andre Robertson and Arthur Swanson.

The clinics will take place at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s M.L. “Tique” Moore Field, located at 121 Reinhardt Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506. Saturday’s clinic will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., while Sunday’s clinic will run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, base running and life skills. Registration will begin half an hour prior to the clinics. The clinics will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance.
