Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Brings Swing with the Legends Golf Classic to Redding, CA

Event to feature Hall of Famers Fergie Jenkins and Eddie Murray

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and Win-River Resort & Casino will host a Swing with the Legends celebrity golf tournament featuring former Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants, All-Stars and other baseball alumni. A celebrity reception will take place on Sunday, May 22nd and the golf tournament will take place on Monday, May 23rd, with proceeds benefitting One Safe Place, the Redding Colt 45s and the Luis Miramontes Memorial Foundation.  

Alumni players attending* the event include Baseball Hall of Famers Fergie Jenkins and Eddie Murray, as well as Joe Bitker, Fred Breining, Dennis Burtt, Rick Bosetti, Greg Cadaret, Rocky Childress, Mike Felder, Huck Flener, Randy Lerch, Noah Lowry, Aaron Miles, Mike Moore, Nyls Nyman, Bill Plummer, Mark Souza, John Strohmayer, Gene Tenace, Matt Walbeck and Greg Vaughn. These 21 players combine for 183 seasons, 12,076 games and 8,516 hits in Major League Baseball. 

The celebrity reception will take place on Sunday, May 22nd at 5:00 p.m., hosted Win-River Resort & Casino, located at 2100 Redding Rancheria Rd. Redding, CA 96001. The golf event the following day will take place at the RiverView Golf & Country Club, located at 4200 Bechelli Lane, Redding, CA 96002 with registration starting at 8:00 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. There will be an awards ceremony and barbecue beginning promptly following the tournament.
