MANCX PRESS RELEASE: 13 September, 2011, London and Stockholm

- New matching engine for knowledge revealed -

Mancx, the online knowledge market, today unveiled Mancx’s Matchmaker at TechCrunch Disrupt, to enable users to match business questions on Mancx with contacts in their LinkedIn network, bringing a new dimension of reach to Mancx. Mancx’s groundbreaking knowledge trading platform gives LinkedIn users the perfect excuse to blow the dust off business connections they haven’t made use of in a while.

Says Mattias Guilotte, CMO and co-founder of Mancx: “The Mancx Matchmaker increases exponentially the chances of any question on Mancx to be answered by the right business professional or lay-person - anywhere in the world. It enables you to push out your questions to your entire network, as well as for other Mancx users to do the same with any question they deem might have relevance for their contacts. Your business network becomes a giant paid-for social search engine. Meanwhile, by integrating LinkedIn’s profile and connection data with Mancx, we give people another reason to keep their network alive and dynamic, while generating both money and goodwill.”

The Mancx Matchmaker analyses questions on Mancx, extracting keywords, which it then uses to match with the keywords in Mancx user’s profiles. Once a Mancx user verifies their account with LinkedIn, the Mancx Matchmaker will also match questions with contacts in the user’s LinkedIn network. If there is a contact that might be able to answer a question, Mancx will tell you. However, the prompt will only be sent to the user, who can then decide whether or not to refer the relevant question to its contact.

Mattias Guilotte explains: ”Mancx isn’t just a bulletin board for questions and answers. It’s not just a market for knowledge. It’s also a matchmaking service for knowledge: LinkedIn acts as a who’s who of business people and professionals, and the Mancx Matchmaker gives you a great excuse to work your network by showing that you’re thinking of them, strengthening your existing rapport. With business contacts it is good to keep your links warm. And if someone sends you a message with a link saying ‘hey, here’s something you could help with’ and the task offers $200 for ten minutes of your time then that’s added value.”

“However, note that Mancx doesn’t search your LinkedIn network unless you give it permission to. If you give it the green light, it doesn’t look for personal information, it scans for keywords that suggest which of your contacts are well placed to answer questions, and then Mancx alerts you. The Matchmaker doesn’t get in touch with your network. An interesting feature is that Mancx gives you the option of taking a percentage of the fee on the questions you are referring.” Mattias clarifies.

The Mancx Knowledge Matchmaker, making powerful use of the LinkedIn API, is released as part of Mancx 3.0, with more upgrades and features being added in the near future.

Mancx, based in Sweden, has a patent pending for its solution to managing trade with information.
