Mancx partners with Viadeo to extend its service for paid social search to 155 million professionals

A new partnership could be set to revolutionize social search by coupling Viadeo, a professional social network with 40 million professionals worldwide with a question and answer service that allows users to buy and sell information on a global level.

The partnership between Paris-based Viadeo and Swedish online knowledge market Mancx will allow members to search the network for people who are well placed to provide vital business intelligence. Furthermore, the Mancx platform will automatically match business questions existing on Mancx with relevant Viadeo members.

Unlike other Q&A services, Mancx offers payment, negotiation and even the tax facilities so that business people can pay other professionals for expert advice, valuable answers and specific information. By partnering with Viadeo, following the earlier integration with LinkedIn in September, Mancx becomes the first Q&A service to bring together the knowledge existing in the professional social networks of both Viadeo and LinkedIn. The Mancx Matchmaker will now be able to find people and relevant expertise across the entire globe to match up with incoming questions.

Viadeo has established itself as the leading professional network focused on Europe and BRIC countries, and offers companies global access to professionals.

Following the API integration with Viadeo and LinkedIn, the Mancx Matchmaker now matches members’ business questions on Mancx with contacts in their own Viadeo and LinkedIn networks, as well as with the extended Mancx network. If there is a contact that might be able to answer a question, Mancx will let the user know, and the user can then decide whether or not to refer the relevant question to their contact. Another useful feature is that Mancx gives the user the option of taking a percentage of the fee on the questions they are referring.

Mancx, based in Sweden, has a patent pending for its solution to managing trade with information and was in November awarded a £70,000/$110,000 grant by Vinnova, a Swedish government agency distributing research and development grants. Previously in September, Mancx earned the title as “the hottest Nordic startup” when winning Arctic15, in competition with close to 100 Nordic and Baltic Internet startups.
