Mandator ITS supplies simulation system to Warsaw Fire Training School Mandator ITS is to supply the TYR simulation system - including installation and training - to the Fire Training School in Warsaw, Poland. Following delivery and training during May 2000, the system will be used to train fire officers and crews in performance and resource management. "We have customized the system to meet the requirements of the Fire Training School in Warsaw. They are a strategically important customer, because this is a relatively new market for us," says Johan Skoglöf, MD of Mandator ITS. TYR means realistic training exercises for students and trainers, with the simulator taking into account resources, the environment and other parameters affecting the course of an event. This means everybody can concentrate on supervising the work, distributing resources and maintaining an overview. Among other things, the system can simulate an accident. This means the same operation can be practiced repeatedly to build experience. The level of difficulty of the training exercise can be varied by modifying a number of parameters such as the weather, distance and extent. The TYR simulator is based on CATS, the Mandator ITS general simulator platform. TYR has been developed for leadership training at all levels. "The simulation system brings large costs savings and makes the training exercises more effective. Assessment is also easier because all the information is in the system. In the final analysis, this means a higher efficiency, because our client will become better at resource management," says Mikael Jarl, Marketing Director Mandator ITS.
