MMMA Metalworking Village to showcase latest innovations from the UK’s leading metal forming companies

London, UK, 18th March 2014 – The Manufacturing Technology Association (MTA) has announced that it will play host to 18 of the UK’s leading metalworking companies during MACH 2014, the UK’s premier engineering and manufacturing technologies exhibition.

As the UK manufacturing industry continues its resurgence, the metalforming sector is enjoying a phase of explosive growth. Worcester Presses, one of the UK’s leading providers of mechanical and hydraulic presses and who is exhibiting at MACH has seen a surge in demand for its range of machines this year, reporting strong growth across key industry sectors including automotive, aerospace and building products.

“Metalforming technology has played a crucial role in producing the cutting edge aeroplanes and vehicles that are spurring the renaissance of the UK manufacturing industry,” said Graham Dewhurst, Director General, MTA. “We hope that companies like Worchester Presses will take advantage of the vast audience MACH attracts and build new relationships that will lead to even greater success.”

The MMMA Metalworking Village will be populated by experts from across the metal forming spectrum demonstrating the latest advances in coil processing, rollforming, sheetmetal working and hydraulic and mechanical machinery. Die handling equipment will also be on show, as will the most innovative lubrication systems. In a UK first, AP&T will be presenting its press hardening process using advanced 3D technology. The simulations allow visitors to study in detail parts of the process that are otherwise impossible to demonstrate.

MACH brings together companies from a range of disparate industries, so that they can share ideas and witness innovative machinery in action. At MACH 2012, over 6,000 tonnes of live working machinery was on display, attracting over 21,500 visitors. Based on current projections, these figures are on course to be exceeded in 2014. The MMMA Metalworking Village can be found at the centre of Hall 5.

About MACH:

MACH is the UK’s longest established and best attended manufacturing event. The exhibition is held at the NEC in Birmingham biennially and attracts in excess of 21,000 visitors and some 500 exhibitors showing the latest machines and other manufacturing equipment.

As the only UK exhibition of its kind and scale, the show is widely recognised as the place to source and buy new equipment. It is the range and sheer scale of the technology on show that is the unique feature of MACH. The event is owned and run on behalf of the industry by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), the not-for-profit trade body representing the UK’s hi-tech engineering-based manufacturing sector.
