Association of Industrial Laser Users to shed light on ‘Design for Laser Manufacture’ at MACH 2014

London, UK, 17th March 2014 – The Manufacturing Technology Association (MTA) has announced that the Association of Industrial Laser Users (AILU) will have a Pavilion stand at MACH 2014 with the theme ‘Design for Laser Manufacture’. MACH is the UK’s premier engineering and manufacturing technologies exhibition and will take place on 7-11April 2014 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.

“The laser is a key tool for manufacturing today, as demonstrated by the continued double digit growth in global sales of industrial laser materials processing systems. The laser provides the ability to process materials in a way not otherwise available and delivers benefits such as speed, quality, and flexibility,” said AILU Secretary Mike Green. “Our decision to book a dedicated Pavilion at MACH 2014 is testament to our belief in the strength of the UK manufacturing sector”

Organisations exhibiting in the AILU Pavilion and in the adjacent Engineering and Lasers Zone include: Cirrus Laser, one of the leading laser cutting, water jet cutting and laser welding job shops; Kabelschlepp Metool, that supply steel, high-grade stainless steel and hybrid cable carriers; and Halo Lasers Limited, that manufacture and designs laser marking and engraving systems.

“As the use of lasers across many manufacturing sectors becomes more and more widespread, this Pavilion offers the laser community a rare chance for peer networking and skills development,” says Graham Dewhurst, Director General, MTA. “We are excited to see the breadth of innovation that will be on show in the Pavilion, and are confident that it will again prove to be a real highlight of the exhibition.”

Visitors to the AILU Pavilion can pick up a free directory of the latest laser-related products and services in the manufacturing sector. They will also have the unique opportunity to access expert advice on how to make the best use of laser-based processing for the fabrication of world-class products. The lounge area will showcase examples of laser-processed components and AILU’s exclusive library of pictures and videos of laser processing. There will also be a wealth of technical and practical information available.

MACH aims to bring together companies from a range of disparate industries, so that they can share ideas and witness innovative machinery in action. At the last MACH event, over 6,000 tonnes of live working machinery was on display, attracting over 21,500 visitors. Based on current projections, these figures are on course to be exceeded in 2014.

MACH 2014 visitors will be able to find the AILU Pavilion stand in Hall 4, stand 4355.

About MACH:

MACH is the UK’s longest established and best attended manufacturing event. The exhibition is held at the NEC in Birmingham biennially and attracts in excess of 21,000 visitors and some 500 exhibitors showing the latest machines and other manufacturing equipment.

As the only UK exhibition of its kind and scale, the show is widely recognised as the place to source and buy new equipment. It is the range and sheer scale of the technology on show that is the unique feature of MACH.  The event is owned and run on behalf of the industry by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), the not-for-profit trade body representing the UK’s hi-tech engineering-based manufacturing sector. About MTA:

The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) is the UK trade association for the Manufacturing Technologies industry. The MTA represents the core of engineering based manufacturing and aims to promote the use and innovation of advanced technology in manufacturing.
