Trainees can find out more about learning to weld in the security of a simulated environment at MACH’s Welding World Village

London, UK, Day Month Year – The Manufacturing Technology Association (MTA) has announced that Weldability Sif, the company dedicated to the supply and support of the welding industry, will showcase its leading virtual reality weld simulator at MACH 2014, the UK’s premier engineering and manufacturing technologies exhibition being held 7-11April 2014 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.

Weldability Sif’s Virt U Weld is a star attraction in MACH 2014’s AWD Welding World Village. Visitors will be able to see the technology in action and learn more about how it enables trainees to develop their skills in the security of a simulated environment. Virt U Weld comes pre-loaded with Weldability’s unique Fabrication & Welding eLearning package to offer a complete training programme including real-time assessment and information on welding procedures.

“This event provides professionals within the welding sector a unique opportunity for peer networking and skills development,” said Graham Dewhurst, Director General, MTA. “There is much talk within construction workforces of an impending skills shortage in areas such as welding, so it’s great to see genuine innovations such as Virt U Weld being showcased in the Welding World Village at MACH 2014, which offers a terrific platform for innovation and skills enhancement.”

Other organisations exhibiting in the Welding World Village include: WeldLogic, a market leader supplying micro-joining applications in a broad range of industries; Rapid Welding, the online shop for all things welding related; Butters-UK Ltd, suppliers of reliable and easy to use welding machines; and BH Tungsten Grinders, suppliers of specialist welding ancillaries.

MACH aims to bring together companies from a range of disparate industries, so that they can share ideas and witness innovative machinery in action. At the last MACH event, over 6,000 tonnes of live working machinery was on display, attracting over 21,500 visitors. Based on current projections, these figures are on course to be exceeded in 2014.

About MACH:

MACH is the UK’s longest established and best attended manufacturing event. The exhibition is held at the NEC in Birmingham biennially and attracts in excess of 21,000 visitors and some 500 exhibitors showing the latest machines and other manufacturing equipment.

As the only UK exhibition of its kind and scale, the show is widely recognised as the place to source and buy new equipment. It is the range and sheer scale of the technology on show that is the unique feature of MACH.  The event is owned and run on behalf of the industry by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), the not-for-profit trade body representing the UK’s hi-tech engineering-based manufacturing sector.
