Help to inspire new generations of aviators and engineers

(Doncaster 14th September 2016): Vulcan to the Sky Trust is launching its Winter Raffle and a selection of exciting prizes is on offer.  The Trust has a number of important projects underway, including the recently announced intention to return a former world record-holding English Electric Canberra WK163 to flight.  The previously restored Avro Vulcan XH558 is in full ground-running condition in her original V-Force hangar on the former RAF Finningley airbase that is now Doncaster Sheffield Airport. 

The Winter Raffle is a key part of the Trust’s fundraising activity.  Supporting the work of the Trust is easy, and all proceeds from the raffle will support its work, helping to return a celebrity jet-age aircraft to flight, whilst also helping inspire new generations of aviators and engineers. 

Raffle tickets cost just £2 and you’ll have the chance to win one of these exciting prizes:

1st Prize: Day with the Blades and a flight in a Spitfire with guest in formation in an Extra 300 

The Blades is the only aerobatic team that can carry passengers, so you will experience a range of aerobatic flying manoeuvres.  A flight in the truly iconic Supermarine Spitfire needs no introduction, and the sound of her Rolls-Royce Merlin engine as you accelerate to take off will be with you forever.  The Extra 300 is a two-seat aerobatic monoplane designed in 1987 by Walter Extra, a German aerobatic pilot, and is capable of thrilling airborne feats. 

2nd Prize: Day with the Blades and a flight in an Extra 300

All the excitement of the first prize but without the extra buzz of the flight in the Spitfire.

3rd Prize:   Taxy ride in Avro Lancaster ‘Just Jane’ at East Kirkby
