Fuel additive uprates the performance of basic fuel to match premium fuel blends at lower cost

Brighouse, England – Despite the recent fall in fuel prices, consumer budgets remain under pressure. Millers Oils’ Diesel Power Ecomax is helping motorists reap the performance and fuel economy benefits of premium fuel blends, while lowering the cost of their fuel bills.

Filling up with high performance grades instead of standard diesel costs an extra 5p-8p per litre on the forecourt. Using Diesel Power Ecomax, from Millers Oils, in the recommended quantity only adds between 2p-3p per litre to the fuel cost, showing a net saving of up to 5p on every litre, and can provide even better all-round performance than the ‘super’ grades from the pump.

“Diesel Power Ecomax suits all modern engines, even those with particulate filters (DPFs) that meet the latest emissions standards,” said Millers Oils technical director, Martyn Mann. “Over the past couple of years, we have seen a rise in the purchases of high performance fuels, as customers recognise the fuel economy and performance benefits they have. Our additive provides a safe, cost-effective alternative to premium fuels, supplying the improved performance and engine cleanliness motorists are looking for.”

Added to the fuel at the rate of one part per thousand (1ml per litre), Diesel Power Ecomax boosts the Cetane number of the fuel by up to 4 points, and cleans away the carbon deposits that can build up imperceptibly over time, improving combustion and engine cleanliness. The result is smoother, quieter running with less combustion noise and reduced hydrocarbon (HC) and CO2emissions.

“The additive is a balanced formulation, including detergency and lubricity improvers, that works in harmony with standard fuels, even those containing Bio-diesel, to progressively clean and protect the fuel system,” explained Mann. “Fuel injectors remain cleaner for longer, fuel pump wear is reduced and the whole system is better protected against corrosion.”

The improvement in combustion efficiency from using Diesel Power Ecomax is responsible for the quieter, cleaner operation, but the benefits noticed by most drivers are the improved fuel economy and livelier throttle response, particularly at low engine speeds, according to Mann. “People tell us they’ve felt the difference by the time they’ve used half a tank treated with the additive, and when they next fill up, the numbers confirm the fuel savings,” he said.

About Millers Oils
Millers Oils was founded in 1887 by John Watson Miller, and since then the company has displayed a talent for innovation and industry firsts.  It was the first to offer diesel specific engine oil for cars and continues to push boundaries to earn its place as a world leader in the technology of low friction.  In January 2012, Millers Oils launched nanotechnology engine oils. When tested against a competitor’s oil of the same viscosity, Nanodrive recorded 40% lower friction at operating temperatures of 110°C, with significantly improved film strength.  Millers Oils uses the expertise gained in motorsport and performance car development to ensure it remains a leader in automotive and commercial vehicle oils and a broad range of industrial lubricants.
