British oil developer increases focus on agricultural sector building on success in automotive industry

19 December 2014, Brighouse, Yorkshire – Attendees of the 2015 LAMMA show (21-22 January, Peterborough), can get answers to their lubrication queries and find out how new lubricant technologies can improve the efficiency and durability of agricultural machinery. Millers Oils (Hall 4, stand 487) will demonstrate its technical abilities within the agricultural sector, with its first appearance at the UK’s largest farm machinery, equipment and agricultural services show.

Also at LAMMA, the British oil developer will be introducing its Millitran® transmission range. These products can extend gear life, help optimise hydraulic operation, protect components at high loads and high temperatures and prevent corrosion. Millitran®, a Universal Tractor Transmission Oil (UTTO), has been developed for tractors and off-highway equipment, which require a combined hydraulic, transmission and final drive fluid. Millers Oils has also developed a product specifically for vehicles with a Caterpillar FD-1 axle, called Milltran FD-1 SAE 60, offering high-efficiency combined with protection additives, tailored to this application.

“We’ll be helping show attendees learn how a careful choice of lubricants can increase the efficiency and durability of their equipment,” says Steve Woollven, Managing Director, Millers Oils. “We’re increasing our focus on the agricultural sector in 2015, and our offering at LAMMA is the start of this. We’re well-known within the automotive arena and have won several awards for innovative products and services in this industry, where quality, efficiency and durability are key. We want to carry this expertise in to the agricultural sector, a market for which we’ve been developing and producing products for many years.”

The company will also be showcasing a range of products at the show, including its Millfarm XTOU Super Universal®, a universal lubricant for tractors and other farm equipment. Millfarm meets the increased performance demands found in the latest generation of farm equipment while retaining the traditional benefits of using a single lubricant.

About Millers Oils
Millers Oils was founded in 1887 by John Watson Miller, and since then the company has displayed a talent for innovation and industry firsts. It was the first to offer diesel specific engine oil for cars and continues to push boundaries to earn its place as a world leader in the technology of low friction.  In January 2012, Millers Oils launched nanotechnology engine oils.  When tested against a competitor’s oil of the same viscosity, Nanodrive recorded 40% lower friction at operating temperatures of 110°C, with significantly improved film strength.  Millers Oils uses the expertise gained in motorsport and performance car development to ensure it remains a leader in automotive and commercial vehicle oils Millers Oils devotes an equivalent R&D effort to its broad range of industrial lubricants, most recently into hydraulic oil subjected to spot operating temperatures of +130 C in systems fitted with nitrogen accumulators used in offshore drilling operations. The resulting Millers Oils product is now in international use.
