Marl and Anglia reach supply partnership
Ulverston, UK, 12 November 2012. Marl Manufacturing, a UK provider of design to manufacturing product realisation services, today announced a supply partnership with UK component distributor Anglia Components. The agreement creates a supply chain solution allowing the Marl Manufacturing UK operation to offer fast turn-around and competitive pricing on small volumes, and to match offshore manufactured price levels on much higher volumes.
Commenting on the agreement, Adrian Rawlinson, Managing Director of Marl International, said, “Marl Manufacturing’s great strength is the fact that the whole process from design to prototyping, volume manufacturing and test takes place on a single site. This gives our customers a shorter lead-time and the ability to bring their products to market ahead of competitors. To this advantage we can now add a strong and very competitive supply chain, based on a UK held and managed stock profile. We aim to provide all the advantages of a flexibly managed local source without a cost penalty.”

Marl International has invested £400,000 to double manufacturing output and speed up the delivery of prototypes at its site in Ulverston, Cumbria. It has formed Marl Manufacturing to offer cable assembly, wiring looms and box build services as well as sub-assembly or complete system build including electronic PCB assembly. Design and manufacturing of bespoke housings to suit the application environment is a strength of Marl Manufacturing, given Marl’s background in addressing harsh environments.
