Stay in this Valentine’s Day – with a three-course meal, naturally

London, 22 January 2015 – Just when the stress of the holidays has released us, the next comes rolling in. Some love it, others hate it – Valentine’s Day. Real romance is nigh non-existent in the annual tradition of spending too much on meaningless gifts and playing reservation roulette for the prize of prix-fixe robbery. This year, skip the scene and bring the best the kitchen has to offer with Marley Spoon’s Valentine’s Day special. valentines.marleyspoon.co.uk

Forget sharing an overcrowded restaurant with sappy first-timers and being fleeced for a lousy V-Day menu. Marley Spoon’s bespoke recipe kit won’t batter your wallet or leave you struggling to make plans. With cheese-stuffed mushrooms as a starter, the only planning to be made is deciding which dish to cook: rosemary chicken with creamy fig orecchiette, whole quail with roast potatoes and fennel, chocolate pork tenderloin with orange and polenta, Sussex rainbow trout with chilli-turnips and radicchio, baked camembert with roast broccoli and rosemary pears or poppy seed curry with fried okra and Bombay mix. Of course, there’s always the decision as to whether the pomegranate-rosewater cheesecake will be served at the table or à la boudoir (that one is completely up to you). There is no need to worry if you’re not a pro in the kitchen – every recipe is easy to follow.

Delivered on either 11 or 13 February directly to your door, the kit even comes with rose petals to decorate. All you might need are a good bottle of bubbly and the perfect playlist. Your Valentine will be far more impressed with a home-cooked meal than you simply whipping out your plastic at a restaurant.

Marley Spoon’s Valentine’s Day special is offered at £13 per person. Price is valid for new members to the flexible Marley Spoon Food Club. Orders can be placed until 11 February 2015.
