Marratech Strengthens Board [Stockholm, Sweden, May 14, 2001.] The Swedish software company Marratech has strengthened its Board by electing three new members, all with deep knowledge of and long experience from the international IT and telecom industries; Viesturs Vucins, former Lucent, Anders J Ericsson, Telia, and Jan Wiklund, Ericsson Radio Systems. Marratech develops and markets software for e-meetings, i.e. meetings over the internet. The new Board members will strengthen the company and its future marketing and sales activities, and add focus to the business strategy. Jan Wiklund, new Chairman, is Vice President of 3G Sales and Business Management Western Europe at Ericsson Radio Systems in Kista. He has held several leading positions in the Ericsson Group since 1989. Jan Wiklund worked for the Volvo Group during the better part of the 80's. Wiklund has a degree from the Chalmers University of Technology. Viesturs Vucins is former President of Lucent Enterprise Networks Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Previously, Viesturs Vucins was CEO of Global One and CEO at AT&T - Unisource. He is also Member of the Board of Song Networks (former Tele 1 Europe). His extensive telecommunications background also includes key executive positions with Ericsson and Telia. Viesturs Vucins holds a Master in Science degree in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, and a Master of Business Administration from Insead in Paris, France. Anders J Ericsson has extensive experience from leading positions in several corporations, mainly within the telecommunications sector. He is presently Vice President Business Development at Telia Equity. Anders J Ericsson was previously responsible for Ericsson's sales strategies regarding the 3rd generation mobile systems (as Director of Sales Strategy & tactics for UMTS). He is also a Board Member of computer games developer UDS. Anders J Ericsson holds a Master of Art. The rest of the Board consists of: Leif Rylander, Partner at the venture capital firm Slottsbacken. Leif Rylander has 30 years experience from leading positions in Scandinavian high tech growth companies. Between 1986 and 1991 he was CEO for Inter Innovation. He is a Board Member for e.g. Finansium, Reddo Networks and Spintec, and Chairman of the Board for M2. Leif Rylander is Doctor of Business Administration. Jan Westlund, is engaged in the development of high tech companies and is the Chairman of the Board for TagMaster and Business Support. He is also Member of the Board of Arkipelago, CSI (USA) and Frisco Bay (Canada). Marratech's CEO, and Board Member, is Magnus Hedberg with a decade-long experience from the telecom and software industries. Magnus Hedberg is one of Marratech's founders and has been the company's CEO since 1998. Between 1994 and1997 Magnus Hedberg worked with development for Telia in USA. He started Telia Research in 1992 where he worked with broadband applications and platforms. Mr. Hedberg holds a Master of Science from the Luleå University of Technology. Board Deputy Members are: Christer Jonsson, Investment Manager for the Scandinavian venture capital firm Emano AB, based in northern Sweden. Christer Jonsson has held leading positions in the IT industry for 15 years, mainly in business development, marketing and sales, e.g. in IBM, Enator and Sema Group. He has also been CEO for Ekström Management & Investment. Christer Jonsson is a Board Member in Adcore North, Operax, and Invekta Green. Ulf Svensson, Partner and Managing Director of the venture capital firm Slottsbacken. Ulf Svensson has 15 years of experience in the areas of finance and business development. His extensive background covers positions from analyst through to managing director of an investment company. He has been on the boards of several growth and development companies.
