New prefabricated football stand makes life easier for lower league clubs

Swedish wood processing company Martinsons has developed a prefabricated football stand for lower league clubs. The finished, priced product, which goes under the name of Martinsons LS 240p Football Stand, has capacity for 240 people and was developed to make it easier and more economical for non-profit-making associations to build stands.

"For a non-profit-making association, a stand is both a major investment and an important one. This is why we developed a complete, specially adapted stand that makes it both simple and economically favourable for the club. To further reduce the cost, clubs can also opt to assemble parts of the stand themselves," says Joakim Gustafsson, Sales Engineer with responsibility for stands at Martinsons.

Simple and quick Martinsons LS 240p Football Stand has room for 240 spectators. The product consists of a glulam shell system with a stabilising frame and a ridge system for the roof panels. On the inside are glulam steps and risers, which are supported by glulam beams. The stand is supplied complete to the customer and includes material, freight and full or partial assembly.

"As the stand is a finished product, the customer doesn't need to worry about the costs of drawings and other planning tasks. As well as significantly shorter delivery times, it's also much easier for the club, all the way from order to having a finished stand in place. As everything included in the delivery is priced and ready from the outset, the customer has full control over the finances," says Joakim Gustafsson.

Climate benefits As well as simplicity and the financial benefits, the climate issue is also important in this context. Wood is the construction material that consumes the least energy in production and also binds carbon dioxide throughout its entire useful life.

"Glulam also complies excellently with fire safety requirements. One bonus is that the glulam also contributes to a pleasant environment in the stand with great acoustics," says Joakim Gustafsson.
