Matthew Lew Launches M by Matthew Lew – An Online Shop Featuring Art for the Home
Summer marks the official debut of M by Matthew Lew (www.mbymatthewlew.com), Chicago artist Matthew Lew’s new online shop offering art and design to inspire the home. This venture features Lew's diverse body of work and supports his belief that art comes in many forms and should be accessible to all.
M by Matthew Lew’s inaugural collection finds Lew out on the town celebrating his adopted Chicago home via his unique perspective on urban landscapes. Each piece is offered through a series of museum quality giclée prints. These numbered, limited edition prints are made in the United States and come with a certificate of authenticity and care instructions. They are available for purchase at www.mbymatthewlew.com.
A natural extension of Lew’s credo of “art for all,” M by Matthew Lew will expand to include home accessories such as decorative pillows, linens, wallcoverings and bathroom shower curtains in the very near future. Lew’s creative product design is matched by his commitment of offering beautifully crafted home goods. At once stylish, current and irreverent, M by Matthew Lew is a unique endeavor from an artist who aims to express the fluidity of life through his art.
Together with Gilt City Chicago, Lew will celebrate the launch of M by Matthew Lew by hosting a cocktail party and painting with wine demonstration on Thursday, June 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at The Matthew Lew Gallery, 415 N. Sangamon. The gallery will be exhibiting a special selection of original Matthew Lew fine art as well as an M by Matthew Lew pop-up shop. In addition, Gilt City Chicago is offering its membership a special promotion on City of Gold: Chicago, one of the limited edition prints included in the first collection of M by Matthew Lew.
“I am thrilled to introduce my new shopping site to those who appreciate art in its many forms and expressions but might not be able to afford original works. About Matthew Lew
Painter, photographer and mixed media artist Matthew Lew was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and completed his art education in San Sebastián, Spain. Inspired by influences from all corners of the globe, he relocated to Chicago in 2005. In October of 2010, Lew celebrated the opening of his River West gallery. He continues to be motivated by a prolific creative spirit and exhibits his latest creations at the Matthew Lew Gallery.
