PRESS RELEASE AUGUST 2015

The London-based, Finnish, artisanal design and lifestyle brand Klaus Haapaniemi & Co is delighted to be showcasing their products for the first time at the 2015 Maison&Objet Paris, 4 -8 September.

The brand was founded by Klaus Haapaniemi and Mia Wallenius in 2010 – and has since gone from strength to strength with retailers across Europe and Asia, including a London flagship store on Shoreditch’s renowned shopping district, Redchurch Street.

Klaus Haapaniemi & Co produces a luxurious home collection focusing on hand printed textiles, cushions, woven throws and hand made rugs. They will be showcasing their entire product range at Maison&Objet in a display designed by the celebrated Finnish product and interior designer Linda Bergroth.

The brand is continuingly expanding their product selection. They launched their first lighting and furniture collection in Autumn 2014 – and are now launching a brand new fabric lampshade collection at Maison&Objet. The expanding accessories collection carries permanent, timeless silk scarves, silk pyjamas and dressing gowns.

Klaus Haapaniemi & Co’s design approach is influenced by nature, Finnish folklore and traditional decorative arts with a modern twist. The designs always tell a story and possess a touch of fantasy and magic. The inspiration for their prints comes from a rich array of cultural references: the worlds of theatre, ballet, music and storytelling. One of Klaus’ unique strengths as a designer is his considered and harmonious yet imaginative colour palette.

“We are excited to be taking part in Maison&Objet Paris first time this year – and introducing our aesthetics and design approach to a yet wider European audience”, says Mia Wallenius, Creative Director of Klaus Haapaniemi & Co.

Klaus Haapaniemi & Co follows ethical principles in all production stages. Fair and equal collaboration and responsible use of re-sources are part of their design process.

Klaus Haapaniemi & Co is showing 4 – 8 September 2015 at the Elegant Hall 4 Stand B45, Maison&Objet Paris, Parc des Exposi-tions de Paris Nord Villepinte.
