LVMH prize nominee womenswear label Xu Zhi has been shortlisted to take part in the iconic International Woolmark Prize competition.
ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL WOOLMARK PRIZE
As the world’s most prestigious award for rising fashion stars, the International Woolmark Prize celebrates outstanding new design talents who showcase the versatility of Australian Merino wool. Each regional finalist for womenswear and menswear receives $50,000 cash sponsorship, and the opportunity to compete in the IWP final. The overall winner for each category, as well as receiving $100,000, has their Merino wool capsule collection commercialised and sold in the world’s top boutiques and department stores through the IWP’s extensive retail partner network.
ABOUT XU ZHI
Xu Zhi is an independent London based womenswear brand with a focus on a unique knit textile method, synonymous to the label. After graduating from Central Saint Martins, the founder and designer, Xuzhi Chen, went straight on to work in the studios of new-generation designers Craig Green and J.W. Anderson. Shortly after Xuzhi established his label, he was selected as a semi finalist of the H&M Design Award – the brand then went on to be shortlisted for the coveted LVMH prize (2016) followed by the International Woolmark prize (2017).
