LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y., November 6, 2014—On Friday, November 14, participants in the Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Product Innovation Institute’s 2014 Innovation Celebration and Product Symposium will tour MechoSystems’ LEED® Gold certified headquarters building.

The C2C Product Innovation Institute is a nonprofit that administers the C2C Certified (TM) product standard. It aims to bring about a large-scale transformation—rooted in the holistic design philosophy of William McDonough and Michael Braungart—in the way things are made.

The annual celebration and symposium offers attendees a chance to meet, share stories, and expand their knowledge of sustainability-driven innovation.

MechoSystems, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of manual, motorized, and automated shading systems, in 2013 was honored as one of six legacy leaders, or early pioneers, of the C2C product standard for its creation of the first complete C2C Certified window-covering system.

The company’s headquarters—a retrofit of its former factory—displays C2C Certified solutions and is emblematic of the innovation C2C is helping to drive.

During the tour, guests will learn about MechoSystems’:

  • Cradle to Cradle Certified products.
  • SolarTrac® automated-shade system.
  • Roof-mounted photovoltaic array.
  • Dashboard energy-monitoring system.
  • Bike racks and locker room.
