Chiron to become new vaccine partner for Meda Meda has signed a letter of intent with Chiron Behring of Germany relating to the marketing of influenza vaccines in Sweden. "Meda has many years' experience of the market for influenza vaccines. In Sweden, Meda had a market share of around 20 per cent in 1998. The partnership will have a term of three years and will involve the marketing ® of the influenza vaccine Begrivac , which has already been approved for marketing in Sweden. The sales of the influenza vaccine takes place between September and November. The market for influenza vaccines in Sweden totalled around SEK 34 million in 1998. The agreement is expected to be signed during the spring of 1999. Chiron is one of the world's largest bioengineering companies, with more than 7,000 employees on four continents.
