Meda and Ballard sign five-year agreement Meda and Ballard of the USA have extended their partnership via a new five- year agreement. The portfolio from Ballard will now be extended to include additional products within the field of gastroenterology, as well as a new range within anaesthesia/intensive care. This agreement also relates to the Baltic States. "Ballard is already an important business partner for Meda. We have been especially successful with MIC-Key. I envisage large-scale commercial potential for the extended innovative range from Ballard which we now have the chance to sell on all our markets," says Göran Pettersson, managing director of Meda AB. The introduction of Trach-Care, a closed suction system for patients in ventilators, has already begun in Sweden and Norway. The launch of Trach-Care in other countries and the introduction of other products will take place successively during the autumn. In 1998, Ballard's products generated a turnover of SEK 17 M.
