New products for Meda's radiology portfolio Meda has signed two new agreements which will further strengthen the company's product portfolio in the fields of interventional radiology and cardiology in the Nordic countries. An agreement has been signed with Eurocor of Germany relating to the marketing and sale of PTCA balloons and stents for interventional cardiology. In addition, an agreement has been signed with Medicorp of France; it relates to the marketing and sale of stents and diagnostic products for interventional radiology. The total market for these products in the Nordic countries is worth around SEK 175 M. "The addition of these products represents a logical complement to the products we already sell in this area, an area in which we are very familiar with the target group," says Göran Pettersson, managing director of Meda AB. "These products will partly replace the range from Schneider in Sweden and Denmark, a partnership which was terminated in February 1999. As a result of these products, we shall be extending our product portfolio in Norway and Finland. What's more, these agreements are excellent examples of our ability rapidly to acquire replacement products when partnerships end as a result of consolidation within the industry." The products which are now being launched in Sweden are already established on some twenty markets. The introduction in the other Nordic countries will take place from the end of June and onwards.
