Thieves steal gypsy caravan from barn in Stockbridge In the early hours of Sunday morning, a red antique gypsy caravan was stolen from a secure barn in Stockbridge, North Hampshire. The beautiful gypsy caravan belonged to a family from the village of Upton Grey and had been in the family for generations. It was being stored in a barn in Stockbridge as had been restored and repainted back to its original beautiful condition which had taken over 2 years of painstaking work by local craftsmen. The thieves broke into the barn by smashing a window and cutting through seven padlocks and chains before transporting the caravan away on a low loader. The owner, Frances Dennys, paid thousands of pounds for the gypsy caravan to be renovated and was devastated to find that thieves had stolen the cherished gypsy caravan. “The gypsy caravan has been in the family for years and I am distraught that it has been stolen. It had recently been renovated so it was in perfect condition for my daughter’s children. The gypsy caravan was much loved by my four daughters who used it as a play house and I planned to hand it down to their children. I am desperate for any news on its whereabouts.” “If anyone has seen anything, heard about such a gypsy caravan (or parts for sale), please phone 07774 163217 or leave a message with Hampshire Police 0845 045 45 45 Crime reference: 44100511037. A substantial reward will be offered for its return.”
