(NGM: SCN)

Could a virus be one of the explanations behind the world-wide epidemic development of obesity? Research indicates that adenovirus 36 (AD36) turns ordinary fat cells into fat-storing cells.

SCN has entered into a global licensing agreement regarding all research around the obesity virus AD36 with the American Professor Richard L. Atkinson. At the same time, SCN is also entering into research collaboration with Karolinska Institutet, in addition to the existing SCN-KI Network of Excellence.

Welcome to a press conference regarding the research around AD36, the development of diagnostic methods, additional indications besides obesity and future treatments.

Date and time: Today, Tuesday, April 8, at 12.00 noon

Place: Centrum för Molekylär Medicin (CMM), Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset, Solna, building L8 (a map can be found on CMM’s website: http://www.cmm.ki.se/omCMM/documents/KartaCMM.ppt)

A lighter lunch will be served.
