Today, Scandinavian Clinical Nutrition AB (SCN) starts the launch of CUUR on the US market with the first deliveries to the chains Vitamin World and Vitamin Shoppe, together representing approximately 2,100 health food stores. The launch is planned to be followed up through distribution via GNC’s approximately 5,000 stores, plus around 15,000 smaller independent chains and stores. The expansion is estimated to take place between December 2006 and February 2007.

Vitamin World, which is owned by the world’s largest health food distributor NBTY, and Vitamin Shoppe together represent the largest stores on the US health food market. As a comparison, Sweden has about 500 stores of varying size, while Norway has about 400.

“Today is an important day for US at SCN, since today is the day we start distributing CUUR, our first product on the US market. Today there are few, if any, news or innovations on the US weight management market, and, SCN is planning to expand the distribution network through mass market chains like Wal-Mart during the second half of 2007”, says Ulf Söderberg, CEO of SCN.

SCN has an exclusive sales license for CUUR from Bringwell AB, which is valid world-wide with exception of the Nordic countries.
