Medicover treats a growing number of Covid-19 patients in India
India has the highest number of daily new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the world. Medicover is increasing the number of beds in India dedicated for Covid-19 patients, currently 650 beds in 11 hospitals, and the demand for Covid-19 treatment is expected to not only continue but increase through the rest of the year. Elective procedures have reduced but Covid-19 volumes and revenue have more than offset for this shortfall. In total 3,100 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from Medicover’s Indian hospitals since the crisis started.

Medicover continues its Indian expansion with its 16th hospital in Srikakulam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This brings Medicover India’s bed total to more than 2,700.
The expansion in India is set to continue with the opening of two cancer centres, one in Hyderabad in the state of Telangana, expected to be treating patients before the end of the year, and one in Nellore in the state of Andhra Pradesh, expected in the first half of 2021.
Medicover in India now has more than 6,000 co-workers, 16 hospitals and 13 fertility centres.
