Restatement communication upon adoption of IFRS 16, Leases with full retrospective application

Report this content

IFRS 16, Leases is mandatory for annual reporting periods starting on or after 1 January 2019. Medicover has adopted the standard from 1 January 2019. The standard applies new ways of accounting for leases in a unified approach and replaces the previous standard IAS 17, Leases. The standard impacts Medicover as a lessee and requires recognition in the statement of financial position of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities. This release provides information on the impact of the implementation of the standard on the Group’s IFRS financial statements for 2018 as restated for the full retrospective application of the standard. As at 31 December 2018 the impact is principally an increase in fixed assets of €116.4m and an increase in financial liabilities of €124.9m and a decrease of shareholders’ equity of €6.4m.

For the complete IFRS 16 restatement and changes to accounting policies please see attachment to this release.
