INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION AT MEDITELLIGENCE Meditelligence is expanding and has started local operations in the UK, from which the French market will also be supported. This was done in October when its PocketPharma business area was reinforced there by the appointment of Mr. Malcolm McIntyre. He has over twenty years of experience of the pharmaceutical and CRO industries, particular, mobile eDC (electronic data capture) and eDM (electronic data management). "This is a natural step in our international strategy, as outside our start-up market of Scandinavia, the United Kingdom market is of the greatest importance to Meditelligence. We are very pleased to have Malcolm McIntyre in our company and his experience of the pharmaceutical industry will strengthen both our local awareness and business understanding," states Jan Furuvald, the CEO of Meditelligence AB PocketPharma is a mobile system for clinical trials that include patient diaries and quality-of-life studies. It has a unique design for the rapid implementation, monitoring and completion of the studies. The product eliminates some of the errors present in paper-based systems and ensures simple and secure daily data capture through the use of pocket PCs by patients or investigators. PocketPharma makes it possible to gather more accurate and complex data with a closer deadline to database closure, allowing earlier introduction of new drugs on the market. The benefits to the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sectors include increased profitability and more rapid drugs availability for patients.
