Lars Adlersson has notified the board of directors that he desires to resign as CEO of Medivir AB

The board has decided to grant his request, and Lars Adlersson will leave his position as CEO of Medivir effective January 31, 2009. Lars, who was appointed early 2003, has been the CEO of Medivir for six years and now desires to move on to other duties. The successor will be presented as soon as possible.

”Following Lars appointment as CEO we have succeeded in increasing the value of Medivir´s project portfolio and have entered into several important partnering agreements with global pharmaceutical companies. As a result we are now in a much better position to achieve our goal to establish a sustainable and profitable company” said the Chairman of the board Anders Vedin.

”I have decided to move on to other duties, but will obviously keep up to date with the continued progress of the company. I sincerely thank the board and all colleagues at Medivir for their support during my six eventful and stimulating years as CEO of Medivir” said Lars Adlersson.
