PREMIER AWARDS MEDLINE PATIENT CLEANSING PRODUCTS AGREEMENT
Medline Also Receives Sole Source Award for Premier ASCEND Program
MUNDELEIN,Ill., April 23, 2013 — Medline Industries, Inc., announced today that it has been awarded a three-year group purchasing contract with Premier, a performance improvement alliance of more than 2,800 U.S. hospitals and 93,000 other health care sites, for its ReadyBath® patient body bathing products and incontinence skin protectant wipes. The agreement begins June 1, 2013.
Additionally, Medline was also awarded a sole source agreement for Premier’s ASCEND (Accelerated Supply Chain Endeavor) program for the same product category. ASCEND assists Premier alliance member hospitals in ongoing efforts to control and reduce costs through simplified purchasing processes and specially negotiated contract benefits.
The contract provides Premier members with access to Medline’s ReadyBath patient body bathing cloths, as well as an array of Medline’s personal cleansing wipes, including: AloeTouch® Wet Wipes, ReadyFlush® Dispersible Wipes, and AloeTouch® PROTECT Skin Protectant Wipes with 3.2% dimethicone. The inclusion of dimethicone, as a skin barrier helps clinicians avoid skin breakdown, which is a primary focus of providers. The ReadyBath system includes single-use pre-moistened cloths with a rinse-free formula that cleans, moisturizes and conditions the skin. ReadyBath cloths are ready to use and disposable, which eliminates the need for basins, soaps, linens and lotions. By implementing a cost effective, single-use bath-in-a-bag concept, clinicians are able to minimize the risk of cross-contamination while improving patient satisfaction.
